The Bloodied Glory of Saosidon
Form of Government: Theocratic Dictatorship/'Empire'
Government Structure: The leader of Saosidon is the 'Bloodied Child', a human said to carry the godly heritage of Blutr - as such, the title tends to pass through the family. From this leader various administrations are delegated to Master Scholars and High Priests; many learned persons also serve as advisors to the Child; as well as the Grand Highest Priest, whose authority is second only the Bloodied Child (excepting Blutr himself, of course, who is fully believed to lead the 'empire' in a near-direct position.
NationStates Government Type: Corrupt Dictatorship
Capital City: Saos is the official captial, while Ex'kue is an unofficial 'cultural capital'.
Currency: The Donaerl
Economic System: Saosidon is officially a capitalist country, but the government funds most services deemed 'necessary to the people', with the costs coming from taxation.
Political Parties: There are no political parties in Saosidon, as the Bloodied Child is entrusted by law to all power.
National Motto: 'Saosidon Exkue Bar', which roughly translates as 'Saosidon's Mastery of All'.
Culture: The Saosidan people have a culture obsessed with competition and honour, combined with a 'live and let live' mentality. Saosidans will likely be members of many groups pertaining to their various interests, and will strive for superiority in their field while remaining polite friends with their acquaintances. In their private lives, though, Saosidans could be seen as quite 'lonely', being secluded and reserved.
Saosidans enjoy poetry and literature, but tend to see visual performance as inferior for many reasons.
In the Southernmost area of Saosidon, the culture is significantly more easygoing.
Religion: The official religion of Saosidon has no official name but has been dubbed 'Blutranism' by outside sources. Saosidans view this as a poor description, but it does describe their view of Blutr, a war-god, as Saosidon's master and protector.
History: Saosidon's history is that of many cultures' effect on a single island society. Originally a rural area of farming and fishing off the coast of Terriya, after the empire's fall the island mostly fell into 'disuse', with only a few inhabitants, until another empire from far overseas, that of Exku'e, took posession of the island as a small addition to its landmass.
Eventually, though, the empire fell too, leaving Saosidon abandoned again. Eventually, after many years of stagnation, it was discovered by a barbarian culture spreading the word of Blutr. They inhabited the island and Saosidon has since grown into the powerful 'empire' of today.
